Goats make stunning pets as well as being great at clearing land - they form very strong bonds both with each other and with their human owners.
To own a goat you must have a County Parish Holding number, a good shelter, good fencing and space for them to browse and graze. We only sell our goats in pairs or more. We test our goats annually for CAE and Johnes and undertake regular fecal egg counts and best practice pasture management in order to try to keep the worm burden low.
Goats will graze your land but also love to browse and the more varied the diet you give then, the better. Most need access to some hard feed, once or twice a day throughout the year, although non-breeding goats and males can do very well on just grass, hay and lots of browsing in the spring/summer. Hay and water should be available 24/7 throughout the year!
Boers are a meat goat and when crossed with a dairy breed (such as the Anglo Nubian or Guernsey) produce fabulous chucky kids who, as adults, can then be readily milked - the butterfat content of the milk from these crosses is high, higher than their pure Anglo Nubian or Guernsey mums.

Registered Boer female (Puddleduck Star - 6yrs old) and her three wether kids (born 11/04/20)
Onion is a well mannered, incredibly friendly and healthy Boer who is an exceptional mum. She has kidded every year since she was two years old, giving three sets of triplets, a set of twins and this year, a set of quads. We are selling her because we want to concentrate more on our dairy goats, rather than the meat side of goat-keeping. She comes with her kids from this year, three strapping boys, all now wethered (the fourth was a still-born, sadly) who are all doing well and are massively friendly.
Onion is quite a self contained goat who will either fit into an existing herd or be very happy to live just with her kids. If/when all the kids go for meat however, she must have a goat companion as goats should never be on their own.
We are selling Onion and her kids as a complete family unit and will be very reluctant to split them up. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is interested in starting a meat herd or who wants a friendly family of goats to munch on their hedgerows and provide lots of love and cuddles.

All four goats: £450 (a 50% deposit will secure this adorable family)

Guernsey/Anglo Nubian cross (5yrs old) and two Boer cross yearlings, one female, one wether (both born 05/19))
Pebbles is a sturdy Guernsey/Anglo Nubian cross nanny who is a reliable milker and an excellent mum. She comes with a daughter from 2019, Cashew, a chunky Boer cross; alongside Peanut, a wether from the same dad (a Boer) and a pure Anglo Nubian mum. Cashew and Peanut are very bonded and Pebbles accepts Peanut as one of her own. We didn’t breed from Pebbles this year but she is in great condition to be bred from again in the Autumn.
Pebbles and Cashew are the shyest goats in our herd but once their trust is gained, they will thoroughly enjoy human attention. We are selling this family as we wish to concentrate more on our Anglo Nubian breeding.
Pebbles, Cashew and Peanut come as a complete family unit and we will be very reluctant to split them up. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is interested in starting a small diary herd or who wants a friendly family of goats to munch on their hedgerows and provide lots of love and cuddles.

All three goats: £400 (a 50% deposit will secure this adorable family).
